A few months ago I bought a Canonet QL17 GIII, it was kind of an impulse buy but I’m pretty happy I got it. It’s the first rangefinder I’ve gotten so I’m still getting used to focusing. I’m really enjoying having a small film camera that I can easily throw in my purse. Below are some photos from first two rolls I’ve shot.

Well I did six months ago. I got a roll of film back with a few photos from Texas and reminded me of my trip. It was my first time in Texas, and unfortunately I wasn’t in the mood to take many photos but here are a few of what I did take. I’m pretty sure all but one of these were taken in Austin.

I have a lot of cameras I often forget about. This one is called Black Slim Devil. A small plastic 35mm film camera with a fixed 22mm lens. I forgot how fun this little camera is. I had film in it for almost two years before finally finishing the roll of film or getting it developed. Due to forgetting about this camera all the time I peeked in the back to check for film more than once, and now there’s a bunch of light leaks. Although I do think some came out kind of cool. This camera never took perfect pictures and I enjoyed the light leaks I accidentally gave them.

I have always loved wide angle shots, so I stuck my wide angle on my film camera and shot a roll. I really liked the last two rolls of film I got back and I think it’s because I forgot how much I love wide angle shots. Here are a few from this spring and summer. Click on photos to view in full.
Every year I take an annual trip to Oregon to visit my best friend and her husband. I love Oregon. It’s always beautiful, and I was super happy with the film I got back from this trip. This trip I didn’t take as many photos as normal, there was more beer drinking going on. I had fun just focusing on film this trip too, because every trip I take is a struggle of what cameras to bring with me. Click on photos to view in full.
Most of June sucked. One of the reasons I took zero pictures. But I did attempt my first cinemagraph. These should be fun to experiment with.
This month I didn't take many photos. Coachella was the end of April so I started May still recovering from that. Aside from the last two these are from a roll of film. I will always love film. Hopefully next month I have a few more shots. Click on photos to view in full.
Went on a family vacation to the river, the Colorado river to be exact. This trip was due to the possibility that my parents may sell the boat which makes me sad. It was super hot, 116 degrees to be exact. I was sweating in the shade, but the water felt amazing.
My birthday was one month ago exactly and I didn't make any exciting plans. I wanted to, I felt that for 25 I should but then I realized I just wasn't in the mood to do anything special. At this time my senior project was really, really stressing me out so I didn't want to think about planning something fun.
Aubrey and I went to The Last Bookstore in DTLA. It was awesome, I've wanted to go for awhile and I love bookstores. This was the most exciting thing I did for my birthday this year and to be honest it was a really good birthday.
Over New Years I visited my best friend who has recently moved to Portland for grad school. It was absolutely beautiful, and I cannot wait to go visit again. Visiting during the beginning of January was interesting, I'm definitely not use to that kind of cold weather.
